Is there any way to uncap the game's FPS?
You can disable VSync in the settings.
Other than that I don't know.
You might check EngineSettings.ini file and change the MaxFPS or something like that.

Might be the game loses the focus because of some process in the background.
Does it happen in windowed mode?
The only open program is the game itself
