Ah thats fusion, then you just need to spam punch so the combo will kill more

indeed, punch is only used here to initiate fusion ( you must have a full combo bar )

remembering correctly I did the first fusion befor it went down, leading to another twister just in time to get another fusion with a tiny bit rest of it
