As you are had previous fix (DSOAL) it is generally better to delete DSOAL files first before this patch. Just disable it in the Creative ALchemy (move back to the left) and delete remaining alsoft.ini and dsoal-hrtf or whatever it is called. After that enable new fix again. Just to prevent overlapping

You basically have to keep in mind that the enemies (same thing for second character) will follow you with a delay. So if you anticipate their movements, it should be fine.
