i played the multiplayer myself a bit using two hacked PSPs... altough i can't currently because one of the batteries inflated.

It's XXL 2 running fairly well on extremely inferior hardware, on Kao 2's engine, by Polish developpers. However, the DS version is a true abomination, even XXL 1 on GBA is better.

I gave up on XXL 2 DS, it wasn't fun to begin with

The cable cart sections on DS were the worst

I also gave up on the OG game for DS. Not only it's unenjoyable, but it seems like a recipe to break your DS's screen or your hand, maybe both. I thought about dragging myself through it, but since I can't work on that one Wiki anymore I saw no more reason to do so.
