This is Courtingdisastus from Asterix in Corsica
when i hear the word Corsica i always have to think of Werner

Looks like that very old Asterix board game.
I think it was on MS-DOS or something
I wonder why this table doesn't list developers. You know, the people who put their blood, sweat and tears ||with varying amount|| into these?

Someone once mentioned a never-made Ubisoft Asterix game for Wii U. I can't find anything about it.
Me neither, I only heard about that rumor
We gotta give the creators of Slap them All credit for actually making new artwork, while These Romans are Crazy recycled Uderzo's art
The StA sprites also remind me of the animated films from the 80's, but with fresh colors and shading
credit to the artists, we'll see if the rest of the team deserves credit once the game is released

That was me mentioning it. It was around 2012 when Ubi had the rights to Asterix. But yeah, there was one press announcement without any screenshots or other content, and then never any talk about it again, after the Wii U sold as badly as it did.
The announcement was probably just a test balloon to see how much attention it would get. Ubi was fastly retreating from its position as one of the top supporters of the Wii U later. And so, there's only this DS game left.
"Champions of Gaul" was the proposed title.
Ubisoft owning the rights to Asterix leaves a bad feeling in my stomach

Well, These Romans are Crazy is the only Asterix game published by Ubisoft I can remember
It is indeed the only Asterix game they published.
I still wonder if that bit of info can be found online. That's some "bottom of the iceberg" stuff... maybe "abyss"
rather Hadal zone then

They got the rights in 2009 or so. That was a transitioning period for Ubisoft. Before Assassin's Creed made them into a full AAA company, Ubi was still making licensed kids' games on the side. The Tintin movie game in 2011 was one of the later ones.
Believe me, I have tried hard to find that announcement. But the only remnants seem to be one or two game databases that still have the name listed, without any info...
