Martyste Tendertail
Pointers.
Martyste Tendertail
I guess that to find pointers... only solution would be to... mess up the hex values?
Martyste Tendertail
Actually distording 3D objects worked fine yesterday. Game won't block because of modded stuff.
pyramidensurfer
But if you change the size of the vertex data, the game will not find the objects anymore.
Martyste Tendertail
I swear, if the CNJV got a copy of the Kal Tool... I'd... I'd be ready to buy it if nessessary! :automatix:
Martyste Tendertail
Then there must be pointers.
Martyste Tendertail
If you change the size you change where the pointers look at, earlier or later.
Martyste Tendertail
And this will affect all the ongoing objects in data
pyramidensurfer
Yes. Or the file has information on how big each chunk of data is.
Martyste Tendertail
And that... would hardly be found by me. I can spot things that repeat themselves in hex but, what they do...
Martyste Tendertail
Remember that number that got duplicated and showed the number of vertices when turned in decimal? What if changed it accordingly?
pyramidensurfer
That would probably not help. There is likely some form of table somewhere at the beginning or the end of the file indicating the position of each object/sound/etc. in the file which we would need to find and modify.
Martyste Tendertail
Aaah.
Martyste Tendertail
It's best then to experiment on the smallest file.
pyramidensurfer
It's like that in the XXL 2 files, but they are structures differently.
Martyste Tendertail
Rome's STRucture 03 should do.
Martyste Tendertail
It's small enough to mess up with.
pyramidensurfer
I've found some pointers in the file pointing to other pointers and pointing around seemingly forever, but nothing useful.
pyramidensurfer
It looked like a linked list of some kind.
Martyste Tendertail
Gaaah! What a Kal Vert!
