Because usually, when you're in an unloaded area, you're stuck.
Try to alt tab out of the game for a while at about the same time you did
It may have something to do with the way it handles cutscenes
I often managed that the music from the pregame-cutscene continues while the video didn't and then then they continued seperately
Yup, the music continues on and can be completed before the cutscene ends
They're just played side by side.
So maybe it has something to do with that
Though if that's how the glitch works then I'm not sure if it should be legal :/

It shouldn't be legal for the same reason that removing the CD when you're playing shouldn't be legal
In Wind Waker you can easily get passed the barrier by removing the disc at the right moment
But that's outside of the game
