Yeah XXL2 is not as well supported as XXL1

Also in case of the remasters, changing the textures in the editor won't have any effect unfortunately, since the game will replace them with remastered models+textures instead

You can change position of collectibles (helmets, multipliers, etc.) and crates, as well as add/remove
