Yup, having a very very rough learning. Hours spent on only a few sections. But, alas, progress.
Even though the rules state the run ends upon the fade-out of level 6, I'm still gonna try and not hit the bonus enemies so that my run can still be counted if there is a leadebroard change
There *is* a "congratulations on beating the game" screen that's past the sixth bonus, so...

I was expecting the end bit to be super annoying to learn but there were some pretty op strategies. It was way quicker to learn than it should've
As such, the end of the run (after you get Cleopatra's order) is easier than the entire 2/3 of it. The rest is by far the hardest gameplay in the run. It's so difficult that I'm simply just going with the mindset of trying to get as many tricks as possible, not expecting to get many, as opposed to trying to get a perfect stage for the other levels.
I won't be able to do full runs until next week. Perhaps I'll be done with that game then
Did a level run like I usually do ! I'm surprised, because out of all 6 levels I've attempted a single time, this one went the best.
So, Contos's level 6 segment was ~~15:10.
The one on my PB is ~~13:49, only about 1m20 faster.
My IL attempt is ten minutes long !!
Okay, it's a 10:58. I'll still call it ten.
That's a 2m50 time difference !! Crazy. Where in the hell did these 170 seconds fly by ...?
For those wondering, based on my understanding, I don't know if sub 10 is achievable for this level.
I've done mistakes equivalent to 15-20 seconds, and if you go for TAS optimization you can definitely shave decent time, enough to reach a low time for sure. But my stuff is already quite optimized, and in a lot of sections you already reach the "max" speed.
Ehh, I'm probably underestimating it all. I'm sure it's possible.
Oh, well. I forgot that I literally died in it because I got hit by the falling rocks TWICE
Getting the hang of level 3-5 now. Only about derusting 1 and 2 a little bit and then I can start runs for good
(I *could* do live runs but I probably won't. I dunno. If people care so much then I might oblige)

I've found some more consistent strats for level 2 in the process.
I was initially planning to do a run where I was good on my level 4+ game while being out of shape about the earlier levels, as a joke. Since I'd still get a WR. But looks like we'll jump straight into it

4m30 out of it I know I could save through sheer strats alone. But I'm not sure where the rest comes from.
The 48 had a lot of deaths, this one has has two
Deaths don't cost so much time though. It's equivalent to maybe 5 seconds each time. Failing one or two strats can easily match this amount
I was able execute most of the important strats, and I do think the strat execution was a little cleaner. There's lots of work left before I make this speedrun actually look fast.
I don't think I can reach sub 40 but I can definitely get to 41. Maybe even 40 itself.
I'll probably settle on getting a deathless run that also doesn't do too many mistakes (with a lot of flexibility for the latter part)
I will try and see how well I can fare, for sure. Just, don't get too excited.
Remember that sub 50 wasn't achieved before, and I did it. Then, 45 became a question, and I did it. That's already a lot.
After all, I'm not planning on staying super long on this game ~~even though it took me 7 months to learn it.~~ I just wanted to contribute to the empty board of a game I had a good memories of in my youth.
I've already done so much with it now, sub 40 wouldn't be adding much more.
Anyway, guess we'll see.
