i mean what can I say. it's peak.
Hahaha thank you so much!
oof how do I deal with lions on XXL GBA?
those jerks attack too fast and too randomly
they are jerks indeed, hatem
i never made it past a certain level in Egypt, because the need for keeping your torch alive, and double jumping two consecutive lava holes, with the middle platform being pummeled frequently by a stone, make the timing way, WAY too awkward to predict and i die to the stone everytime, forcing a complete redo of the level, recollect everything, etc. Frustrating, so my GBA copy remains unfinished.
the game's difficulty is out of control, untested, and like console, potion triple jumps can lead to unintended skips.
oof that doesnt sound fun, not looking forward to it
I'm halfway through Greece now, so far it's been a blast
the game is legit beautiful imo
the XXL art style works so well on the GBA
and the controls are surprisingly good, only depth perception becomes an issue of course
yeah it's quite surprising how good the textures are despite the lack of vertex colors.
the affine texture mapping definately hurts depth perception. I do find it neat that it gives us a very good idea of what XXL on PS1 could have been, with character sprites turned back into models, better draw distance and some vertex colors to spice it up.
update about crashes of xxl
i updated w11 to the most recent version, cause i needed to do that - fucking widnows started working like shit without newest updates, and game is working
