Clearly there was a major screw up at Microsoft... there were YT videos headlining update problems.

Things were simple when I was a minor: no Windows updates until I got Windows 10 in 2020

I think it is time to get back to the roots ^^

I know which level you mean now, and I died there are a few times too, until I realized with a longplay that it's not actually timing based.

you just need to light the torch, then run through the section without stopping. The stones' cycle only activates once you get closer, so it's always the same.

what I really appreciate about the GBA game is that it follows the world design of the PS2 version quite closely. Of course it takes some liberties, but I can still tell most of the time which part of the PS2 version the current section is supposed to resemble.

That includes Beta Rome, which I find really cool. I wonder if S.P.Q.R took inspiration from GBA for his mod? I can see at least one similarity, namely having rocketeers at the long staircase.

I was super against those there

I don't like them much either, but maybe GBA confirms it was the devs' original vision?
failentin
(I wonder what kind of Beta Rome the GBA team had access to)

another similarity I see is Obelix being able to break stone walls with punches

Haven't played the GBA version

you should! It's honestly fantastic

though probably better enjoyed on real hardware than emulator

(see, formation + rocketeer on the long staircase section, with the objective to carry the torch upstairs)
