I wasn't too big fan of the time challenges, 5 seconds for gold was brutal
one where you do like Crash and freeze time
there was a similar moment with an XXL3 camp that required a patch because gold was likely not even TASable
but at least nothing in XXLR was impossible.
Weird, that's the stuff that gets tested by QA afaik

Yo could still get multipiers there but they are completely gone from being collected like helmets or passing romans around
You could get them from these small challenges and it was maxed out at X9
I get they had to do something to how many helmets you can get with the figures now costing helmets and all these upgrades but it also made fights a bit less thrilling
But that is mostly our nostalgia being upset, as technically the balance of costs of things in the game with your rewards was actually decent.

Nothing equals Olympic Games with the amount of helmets you can gather, only for having next to nothing to spend them with.
as a kid in 2008, i had massed 4 million
Then 11 million sometime later on PC... and as I experiment on PS2 emulation with savestates, I passed 1 billion
( because there's not even a 16-bit cap on the multiplier, and you can keep farming them.... )
