Well, back in the day on PC version, without Dsound because we didn't need it yet for anything, i also had trouble with some combos, aka some of them would refuse to launch on controller while on keyboard they worked fine: turns out that even if you have set XXL2 to use keyboard controls and then transfer those to Joy2Key, it might still detect your controller and will make you press multiple inputs in one key, always invalidating some combos.
My controller had a very weird and poor detection with XXL2, where L2 would be treated as Pause. So weird.
alright, looks like maxing out shields and staying hitless will guarantee a x10 or potion tip bonus in WCW!
so the strat is entering Luxor with all six shields by picking up the two shields at Notre Dame while waiting for the boat, and picking up or two or three backup shields in Venetia!
and, very importantly, not dying at the second boss x) If a slide jump or the Obelix switch is likely to fail, immediately reload before the death animation plays
