If a node is invisible, it most likely means that when the developers saved the level it was invisible at that time

CKHkLight? It's not a particle node, just a regular CNode with a particle geometry that holds the list of placements of the different lights

Yep! A particle geometry contains an RpPTank. It is a container for particles, so they won't animate by default!
