Down from 32KB to 19KB, with about as much texels. Less than it takes still to fill a Gameboy screen.

I've also learnt about the fact that alpha pixels still have a color, so bilinear filter on textures with alpha outlines will show that color, and there are ways to fix them to avoid the halo...

In XXL on PS2, most of these were just unfiltered, point. On PC/GC, they are filtered, and that leaves some halos visible. I plan to fix them all

That's why usually the pixels that have a 0% alpha are the same color as the adjacent (visible) ones

mhm, its such a know issue in SM64 romhacking that people had to make tutorials to avoid the rookie mistake.

And, fixing halos means that i can turn "alpha clip" textures into "alpha blend" when that looks nicer

The main problem, was that game loaded too long, like... Even when i moved the directories to an M2 SSD it was almost the same time as STALKER 2 on release. (9 minutes, lol.)

If you have potato pc then ye, but still, even if you have fine one, loading times when you just enter the game are trash, agree on that :timetodie:

the remastered games seemed to take some time to decompress things, and cache shaders.

Since the Switch 2 isn't hardware compatible with the Switch 1, it also falls into the trap of caching shaders for Romastered, despite the flawless 60fps otherwise.

on this current laptop, yeah, loading levels could take up to a minute for me
