| Failentin | Where do you hear Helvetia nighttime though? |
| Feurus Fuchsus | > Yeah I feel they could be more cinematic like XXL 1 but I still love it for what it is, gives off some nice theme park vibes
How convinient that Las Vegum is an amusement park |
| PegPeregoGaucho | the xxl2 soundtrack is unfortunately very short |
| PegPeregoGaucho | and it has damn ambience baked into it |
| Feurus Fuchsus | i do prever XXL 2's soundtrack over XXL 1 but yeah, the main problem is how short it is |
| PegPeregoGaucho | |
| PegPeregoGaucho | no way |
| PegPeregoGaucho | the soundtrack has way less themes and those few themes are mostly under a minute long, so you hear the same theme over and over and over and over and ov.... |
| Mr.Rubinshtein | XXL2 has its own charming music |
| Mr.Rubinshtein | i would say its in some ways kinda melancholic music |
| Mr.Rubinshtein | interestingly |
| Feder373 | I've always had the feeling that most effort in this game was put on how to locate all the game references... |
| Mr.Rubinshtein | XXL2 put effort into everything |
| Mr.Rubinshtein | design gameplay |
| Mr.Rubinshtein | music |
| Mr.Rubinshtein | can we consider XXL 2 developers as one of the first fan service inventors? |
| Mr.Rubinshtein | |
| Feder373 | I didn't say they didn't put effort in other things, just that most effort went into that: locations, characters, plot, even part of the gameplay design (the less good parts imo) revolves around other game references. And I think that limited the game as a whole.
And no, fanservice has existed since decades ago, it was in the 90's in The Simpsons and a lot of animes. |
| Mr.Rubinshtein | i see |
| ☢ NUKA CORGI ☢ | Yeah that’s my point
I wish it was longer and a bit more intense for battle themes but I still love it |
