Martyste TendertailYou can enjoy making art regardless on your skills. But if a difficult as heck game crashes on you, literally erasing effort you put into trying to progress through it, that will never be fun. Even if something can objectively be a waste of time ( as, time not spent earning money ), it doesn't mean it isn't purely useless, if it's *fun*. That reminds me of Rubin's 3D XXL items. We barely could put them to use in the original game, I only recall 2 items imported over, but Rubin had *fun* doing so and sharing his work to the team.
Martyste TendertailAnd I like to consider that every art piece you make puts you a little bit more forward than the previous, learning more and more as you go. Not making cash from one art doesn't mean it wasn't significant in your learning curve.
Martyste TendertailTaking my own year of 2020 as an example, where I finally got my first commissions, most of my progress was actually performed through personal/free art...
PegPeregoGauchoimprovement sure, but theres a skill ceiling
PegPeregoGauchoand i was not talking about fun, thats something else... why do you bring that up? Of course you need to entertain yourself somehow
Martyste TendertailBecause Stinkek mentionned it in her original message. Not pulling it out of thin air.
Martyste TendertailAs I quote, "more enjoyable"
PegPeregoGauchoyes, thats why i didnt bring it up before
Martyste TendertailAll in all, we all have our opinions on art and it's usefulness in society, that's respectable, but as Stinkek pointed out, your reaction was a bit mean, and I don't think it was another matter of sarcasm, hm? All opinion can be discussed, for as long as everyone remains civic to others :) It does look like that the discussion was over before I arrived a bit late tho. I don't really wanna wake up all again to extend on something that looks closed, beyond stating my own opinion, as I was at least briefly mentionned...
PegPeregoGauchoif you dont want to extend it, then dont extend it :WeirdChamp:
Martyste TendertailLooking from afar, trying to evaluate the usefulness between two recreational activities does look a little bit pointless.
PegPeregoGauchoit should be very clear actually
Martyste TendertailI only realised the discussion was over a few hours ago by time of writing my previous message, hence why I chose to conclude now.
PegPeregoGauchoas i said, if you dont want to extend it, then dont extend it :WeirdChamp:
PegPeregoGauchono excuses
Martyste TendertailI don't think you understood. I though the discussion was fresh when I started writing here. A situation when yes, it's suitable to extend. Then only when I realised Stinkek and Noxus were already offline that I chose not to discuss further points I still did not state to this moment. End of the topic till perhaps Stinkek states something again, as she is the most concerned in the debate 🙂
PegPeregoGauchodude, you can not tell me, that you read through all of the messages and *somehow* missed the timestamp
Martyste TendertailWhat, it never happens to you?
PegPeregoGauchoyeah, im not blind
Martyste TendertailThere's a difference between blindness and not paying attention to something while being focused on another, you know. But I don't think it's the time to querell for such an insignificant thing, no?
